Serving Opportunities

Below is a list of current serving opportunities here at Concordia. Click on a role below to see more information about that role. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or would like more information!

  • The Administrative Assistant is a role that facilitates a welcoming atmosphere and support for the work of Gospel proclamation at Concordia. The role has primary responsibilities in such areas as reception, administrative support for all areas of the church and school, and finances, all of which enable our congregation to reach people with the Gospel.

We are accepting applications for this 35-hour/week paid staff role until April 30, 2017. Application may be made by cover letter and résumé submitted to our office at 2800 South Main Street, Penticton. For more info contact our office.

  • We're seeking leaders to be part of the teaching rotation for our preschool-grade 5 Agape Kids Sunday School. Support is given by Teresa Sherburne and ministry staff.

  • Our Celebration service at 11:00am on Sundays is led musically by a pop/rock-style band with a variety of instruments and vocalists, and uses a sound system for amplification.

  • We have a number of avenues of communications here at Concordia. Two ways you could help immediately are with the weekly email newsletter and announcements for the narthex TV display.

  • At our Celebration Service on Sundays at 11:00am, we use a program called MediaShout, which our Director of Worship affectionately calls "Powerpoint on steroids". It is a powerful program, yet very easy to operate for song lyrics, images, videos, etc. A Computer Operator operates MediaShout during the service on Sunday mornings.

  • Our Traditional service is led musically by a choral group and accompanied by piano/organ. The door is always open for people to serve on this team.

  • As a church, we are in the business of storytelling. We have the best story in the world to share—the love of God shown to us in Christ Jesus.

  • Our 9:00 worship service is led musically by a small chamber choir and piano, and uses a sound system for amplification.

  • Both of our worship services use a projector and screen. At our 9:00 Traditional Service we use Powerpoint to discplay hymn lyrics, readings, etc.

  • Ushers are greeters and assistants on Sunday morning.
